What is a Soapboxx?
A Soapboxx is an opinion submitted by a member of the community. Other members can then vote and/or comment on the Soapboxx.

How do I post a Soapboxx (an opinion)?
If you're itching to get up on your Soapbox, go to the top of any page and click the 'Add new opinion' button. Just write out your opinion, select the appropriate topic and fill in your nickname if this is your first time at Soapboxxer. Then hit 'Add Opinion!' and join in the discussion that follows.

How come I can Agree or Disagree with my own opinion?
At Soapboxxer, the opinions that you submit can be contrary to your own beliefs.

I haven't joined yet, but I'm earning Authority. Do I get to keep my Authority?
Yes, Soapboxxer uses cookies to remember you and the Authority you've earned, even if you haven't joined yet. This way when you return to Soapboxxer you will keep the same nickname and Authority you have accumulated.
There is one exception, once you delete your cookies everything will vanish into thin air unless you join Soapboxxer before deleting them.

Why is my nickname already filled in when I haven't joined yet?
Soapboxxer uses cookies to remember you. Whenever you participate, you are required to fill in a nickname even if you haven't joined. Soapboxxer will remember this nickname and will automatically fill it in for you whenever you return to the site.

Can I change my nickname?
You can change your nickname right up until you join Soapboxxer. When you change your nickname, all previous comments and opinions will show your new nickname. After joining SoapBoxxer, your nickname will be saved for all future activity on Soapboxxer.

How do I join?
Just select 'Join' located at the top of any page and fill in the blanks.

How do I get an avatar?
Just click on your nickname to go to your profile and select 'Edit profile'. You can add an avatar by uploading an image. You can also add a tagline or description to say something about yourself.

How do I invite friends to Soapboxxer?
If you want to invite some friends to get in on the discussion, simply select 'Invite Friends' at the top of any page and fill in the blanks. When you're done, just click send and wait for your friends to join in on the fun.

How do I find the Most Recent Soapboxxes?
Select the 'Most Recent' link located just below the Authority box on the homepage.

How do I find the Most Popular Soapboxxes?
The most popular Soapboxxes will always be displayed on the homepage of Soapboxxer.

How can I get my Soapboxx on the homepage?
Soapboxxes on the homepage have received a lot of new votes and comments from the community. So the only way to get your Soapboxx popular is to have a really interesting opinion that gets other members voting and commenting.

How do I keep track of my Soapboxxes?
If you want to follow up on your own Soapboxxes and see what other people have been saying, just click on your nickname and select 'Soapboxxes' from your profile feed.

How do I keep track of Soapboxxes I've commented in?
You can follow up with every Soapboxx you've commented in by clicking on your nickname. This will take you to 'Recent Activities' in your profile feed.

Is the feed at the top of every page the same as the Recent Activity feed in my profile?
Not quite. The feed at the top of every page does show you any recent activity for Soapboxxes you've been involved in, but it also shows you extra activity that you may not know about, like brand new Soapboxxes.

How do the Topics work?
Topics help organize the Soapboxxes and can be sorted by Most Popular or Most Recent.

What is Authority?
Authority is based on points you earn while participating at Soapboxxer. We want everyone to get involved and express their opinions so the more you contribute, the more Authority you're going to earn. You can also get Soapboxxer swag once you accumulate enough points. To see what you can get, click 'Swag' at the top of any page.

How do I earn Authority?
Earning Authority is really easy. All you have to do is participate on Soapboxxer. Vote, Comment or Create an Opinion and watch your Authority go up. There are no right or wrong answers, just let your voice be heard.

What are Top Soapboxxers?
Top Soapboxxers are community members who have earned the most Authority by being the most active members on Soapboxxer. You can view the Top Soapboxxers by selecting the 'Top Soapboxxers' link at the top of any page.

How do I become a Top Soapboxxer?
If you want to be a Top Soapboxxer, all you have to do is get active. Start commenting, voting, adding Soapboxxes and stirring up some controversy and your points will sky rocket.

Can I see if a particular Soapboxxer is online?
Just click the 'Soapboxxers Online' link and it will show you who is active right now.

How do I flag something as inappropriate?
If a specific opinion offends you, you can let us know by clicking 'Flag Inappropriate' located just below any Soapboxx on the site. You have to earn a certain amount of authority before you can flag and remember, you should only flag something that is offensive like hate speech. Don't flag an opinion simply because you disagree with it or it has typos.

Flagging doesn't work for me
You must be logged in and have a certain amount of Authority before you can flag a Soapboxx. Sign up, participate and it won't take long before you can help moderate the site.

What is the blog for?
The blog will be used by the administrators of Soapboxxer to give you periodic updates on what is going on with the site. Small changes and new features are being added on a regular basis so stay tuned.
